Robert Anthony "Bob, Butch" Voss, was called home by His Heavenly Father on Friday, January 26, 2018.
Bob was born in Comal county on March 18, 1943 to Bianka (Schwab) and Rudolph Voss. He was one of five children.
Bob was proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Helen (Henk) Voss. His three children, Karen Nance (Scott), Michael Voss( Lisa) , and Matthew Voss (Crystal). Robert Anthony "Bob, Butch" Voss, was called home by His Heavenly Father on Friday, January 26, 2018.
Bob was born in Comal county on March 18, 1943 to Bianka (Schwab) and Rudolph Voss. He was one of five children.
Bob was proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Helen (Henk) Voss. His three children, Karen Nance (Scott), Michael Voss( Lisa) , and Matthew Voss (Crystal). Grandchildren, Dylan Nance (Cecily), Ty Nance (Erin), Justin Voss, Bubba (Courtney) Cochran and Colton (Stephanie) Moore, Travis Granzin. Great-grandchildren, Braxton, and Troy Nance, Hayden Granzin, Paityn and Karter Cochran and two more on the way, Tucker and Audrey Nance. Brother James (Barbara) Voss. Sisters, Diane (Bill) Moltz, Bernadine "Annie" ( Harry) Grothues, and Mary (Barry) Irwin, brother-in-law, Chris Henk and 17 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his immediate family, Butch and Helen enjoyed many lifelong friends that shared their love of hunting, fishing and numerous activities while raising their children.
Butch and Helen shared their blessings and their beloved Pan Dulce Ranch with numerous friends, family members and have grown and raised an extended family through this labor of love for the outdoors, mentorship of many people and fellowship with others. He has also imparted his love of farming and raising cattle with all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His great grandchildren loved their tractor rides with Grandpa on the farm. This gave him great pleasure.
Butch was a life long Catholic, beginning his religious upbringing at St James Catholic Church in Seguin and their marriage at Sts. Peter & Paul. His faith sustained him and lead him throughout his lifetime. He and Helen shared their strong faith with their children and shared their faith through numerous volunteer positions at Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels.
After graduating from Navarro High School in 1961, Butch served in the Army and then continued his service in the Texas National Guard. Butch was highly respected in his numerous sales positions with local car dealerships including, Krueger Motor Company, John Kenagy Motor Company, Becker Motor Company and Randy Adams.
Being an avid hunter, fisherman and rancher, he served as President of the Comal County Sheriffs Posse, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Palomino Association.
Butch and Helen enjoyed sharing their love of horses early in their marriage and taught their kids about horses and showmanship along with raising and showing livestock.
Services will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 5pm-9:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral mass will be Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:00am at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
To honor Butch, Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church School fund or the the Hill Country Chapter of Serve Outdoors.
