Larry Wayne (Opie) Lehmann went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2017 at the age of 71. He was born on July 24, 1946 at home to Erwin and Valeska (Krueger) Lehmann. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1964 and joined the U.S. Army. He graduated from the Language Institute in Monterey, California in 1966 and was stationed in Berlin, Germany until 1968. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Busch Lehmann on January 8, 1966. They raised two sons, Keenan and Kevin, and one daughter, Kim Lehmann Gonzalez. After his service, he graduated from Southwest State University with honors with a Bachelors Degree in Science in 1971 and a Masters Degree in Mathematics in 1976. After teaching math a short time at Canyon Middle School, he became employed at Symons Corporation and stayed for 35 years as an estimator. In this role, Larry received a patent for a flex form that he invented for the company.

The absolute loves of Larry's life were his children and grandchildren. He never missed a ball game or an activity they were involved in. He served as a scout leader for Troop 163, helped coach soccer and softball teams, and served on the school board. His joy was seeing them grow up and develop into outstanding citizens. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church where he was instrumental and passionately involved in the start of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School trust fund. He was a proud parent whose children attended the school for 21 consecutive years. Mary Ann and Larry enjoyed traveling to many states and countries. In 2009, they visited 35 German villages of their ancestors. Larry was well known for his incredible BBQ and homemade BBQ sauce. He spent many happy hours by his pit.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Valeska, and brother Jerry Lee Lehmann. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 ½ years, Mary Ann; son, Kevin Lehmann and wife Sharon; daughter, Kimberly Gonzalez and husband Mario; son Keenan Lehmann and wife Sondra; brothers, Norman Lehmann and wife Elsie, Roman Lehmann and wife Lillian, Leonard Lehmann and wife Patty, Erwin II and wife Helen; sisters, Alice Wahl, Doreen Henk and husband Edward, and Gladys Jahnson; grandchildren, who lovingly called him Opie, Andrew Lehmann, Amber Lehmann, Kayla Skinner, Emily Skinner, Mattie Gonzalez, and Grant Gonzalez as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Great grandchild Klayton Drew Shartzer is expected in September.

Visitation will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home on Sunday, August 13th from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. The Vigil will be held at the Zoeller Funeral Home Chapel at 6:00pm. The funeral will be held on Monday, August 14th at 10:00am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Following mass, an internment service will be held at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Cemetery.
